Tim Engels
Tim Engels is a Butler County native having grown up in Benton and residing in El Dorado since 1977. He graduated from BCC (’75) and Emporia State University (’77) with a degree in Industrial Arts. Tim has a Master’s degree from WSU (’90). He has taught carpentry and woods at both EHS and CHS for 25 years. Hundreds of students have learned how to build woodworking projects as well as houses under his instruction.
Tim is a member of St. John’s Catholic Church where he has cantored for over 37 years. He is a current member of Knights of Columbus. He serves on the El Dorado City Planning Commission and is Building Inspector for the City of Towanda. As an educator, Tim sponsors Skills USA, is a member of CNEA’s negotiation team, and a CNEA scholarship co-chair. He was selected “Master Teacher” for USD 375 in 2007.
Tim has been married to Sherri, a USD 490 retired Kindergarten teacher, for the past 35 years. They have 2 sons (Nick & Marcus) and 5 granddaughters. Both sons and daughter in-law, Maria (Nick’s wife) will likely assist their father in the property management business as needed. Tim and Sherri have owned rental properties in Butler and Sedgwick Counties since 1992 and have managed other properties since 2009.
