Sundgren Realty & Auction Welcomes Ian Worrell to the Team

Sundgren Realty & Auction is proud to welcome Ian Worrell to the team as a licensed real estate aganeand Director of Development. Ian brings a unique combination of Kansas auction roots, commercial banking experience, business development and a strong history of building meaningful relationships throughout the Wichita community.For Ian, joining Sundgren feels like a return to familiar ground.

A native of South Central Kansas, Ian grew up around the auction business on both sides of his family. His connection to Sundgren Realty & Auction runs deep, with family ties to the company in El Dorado, while his other side of the family has been involved in the auction and real estate business through Worrell Auction & Real Estate in Leon.

The auction business has been part of Ian’s life for a long time. That background gives him an understanding of the people, relationships and trust that are at the heart of the business.

Bringing Banking Experience to Real Estate

Ian also brings 16 years of professional experience in commercial banking and lending with INTRUST Bank. That experience provided him with a strong foundation in finance, business, problem-solving and, perhaps most importantly, working with people.

He is a graduate of Kansas State University, where he earned both a bachelor’s degree and MBA in Finance.

Since stepping away from banking in 2022, Ian has continued to work in areas including nonprofit organizations, entrepreneurship, small business and technology. Much of that work has centered around business development and team building — experience that fits naturally with his new role at Sundgren.

As Director of Development, Ian will focus on creating opportunities, developing relationships and finding ways for Sundgren Realty & Auction to provide meaningful value to the clients and communities we serve across Kansas.

Deep Wichita Roots

While Ian’s roots run through South Central Kansas, he has also developed deep ties to the Wichita community. He lives in East Wichita and has been actively involved with a number of Wichita-area organizations over the years.

Ian currently volunteers with Wichita Festivals as part of the Operations Committee, known as the “Red Shirts.” His past community involvement includes HumanKind Ministries, Quivira Council BSA, Risk Management Association-Wichita, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Wichita, United Way of the Plains, Young Professionals of Wichita and Avenue Art Days for the Douglas Design District.

That commitment to community is an important part of who Ian is — and it aligns closely with the way Sundgren Realty & Auction has approached business for more than four decades.
